Mumbai Rains LIVE Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘red’ alert for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Palghar districts for Sunday, warning of extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning in isolated pockets.
‘Orange’ alert remains in place for today.
Mumbai has already received 445 mm rainfall this September, crossing its monthly average of 380 mm.
Colaba received 54 mm, Santacruz 12 mm in the last 24 hours.
Government advisory: Avoid flood-prone areas, don’t take shelter under trees, and refrain from unnecessary travel.
NDRF teams have been placed on high alert across Maharashtra, with deployments in Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nagpur, Solapur, Dharashiv, Beed, and Latur.
Citizens are urged to stay safe, follow official guidelines, and avoid spreading rumours during this severe weather situation.
