Authorities in Singapore say around one in five amusement ride operators could benefit from changes to permit requirements for low-risk offerings. Under the proposed changes, operators may no longer need permits for certain rides that meet safety criteria. Operators say the changes could help them reach more customers by making it easier to introduce new rides or expand to different locations. The Building and Construction Authority says operators remain responsible for ensuring ride safety and maintenance. It will continue to work with operators to uphold safety standards.
