The catastrophic flash flood has devastated the Nepal–Tibet border region, killing at least 165 people and leaving hundreds missing, including large numbers of foreign tourists and Indian pilgrims returning from the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority confirms 165 bodies recovered across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts with numbers expected to rise. On the Tibet side, Chinese state media reports 3 deaths and 265 missing in Gyirong County.
Spiritual leader Sadhguru has confirmed that 80 pilgrims from his Isha Foundation Kailash group are unaccounted for after the flood hit the immigration office where they were stationed. The group included citizens from the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and other nations.
Across India, families are desperately trying to contact loved ones with 37 of 57 pilgrims from Tamil Nadu’s Kumbakonam still untraceable, and a 32-member Kolkata group missing. Maharashtra, West Bengal, and other states are working round-the-clock to trace stranded tourists.
Nepal PM Balen Shah has visited Nuwakot for on-ground assessment, while the Nepali Army deploys helicopters and foot teams to deliver aid. India has airlifted 47.5 tonnes of relief material via IAF planes, and NDRF teams are monitoring the Gandak river basin in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh
