US President Donald Trump received a setback on Tuesday in the mid term elections. His opponent, the Democrats are now in majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
The interesting part is at least seven Muslim candidates have won seats in the Congress. It is a historic gain. They had campaigned on civil rights, healthcare and foreign policy. The power shift is likely to force Trump to amend some of his policies. This most important will be the US stand on Israel. Apart from that immigration, humanitarian assistance and military support will be other key issues.
The newly elected Muslim candidates may influence the Trump administration to amend its policies.
