🔹 Mumbai MACT Awards ₹9.39 Lakh Compensation
A 77-year-old Worli resident has been awarded ₹9.39 lakh after suffering permanent disability in a motorcycle accident while walking to a public toilet. The tribunal held the rider negligent and directed the insurer to pay the compensation with interest, while allowing recovery from the rider, who allegedly lacked a valid driving licence.
🔹 Pune Accident Victim’s Family Gets ₹33.8 Lakh
The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal awarded ₹33.8 lakh to the family of a 43-year-old man who died in a road accident in Daund. The tribunal rejected allegations of contributory negligence and held the truck driver responsible, directing the owner and insurer to jointly pay the compensation.
🔹 MSHRC Seeks Reply in Powai Madrasa Complaint
The Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission (MSHRC) has granted the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC/MCGM) a final opportunity to respond to a complaint alleging that an unauthorised madrasa in Powai is causing inconvenience and safety concerns for nearby residents. The Commission warned it may proceed ex parte if no reply is filed at the next hearing.
