Mumbai commuters, here’s some good news! FPJ visited the Targhar station, the closest rail link to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, and saw the progress firsthand.
With 10 new suburban trains set to start and two new stations – Targhar and Gavhan – opening soon, travel along the Belapur–Uran corridor will finally become faster and easier.
Currently, trains run at long intervals of 60–90 minutes, but the new schedule will cut waiting times by around 15 minutes, giving relief to daily commuters across Mumbai and Uran.
This is the first major increase in services in 7 years, and with Targhar station designed with three platforms, terrace parking, shuttle services, and retail zones, it promises to become a key hub for airport travelers and local residents alike.
