Witkoff was pictured alongside Mike Huckabee, the US ambassador to Israel, wearing a black Make America Great Again baseball cap and touring a site run by the Israel and US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), in Gaza’s southernmost city, Rafah.
Huckabee said in a post on X that he and Witkoff had gone “for a visit to Gaza to learn the truth about [GHF] aid sites”, adding: “We received briefings from @IDF and spoke to folks on the ground. GHF delivers more than one million meals a day, an incredible feat!”
In a separate post, Huckabee shared an image of what appeared to be crowds of Palestinians outside the distribution centre, queuing behind barbed wire and posters displaying American flags.
