The U.S Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth criticised NATO allies saying it is ‘shameful’ that they failed to provide U.S. forces access to bases in Europe to launch attacks on Iran. Additionally, he announced that the Pentagon would assess American forces in Europe for six months.
Hegseth went on to say that the Trump administration is currently seeking to revitalize the 32-nation alliance in order to transform it into a “NATO 3.0” that can fend off any danger. Only a few weeks had passed since the United States said that it would stop providing certain planes and warships in the event that one of them was attacked.
