Opposition leaders including Congress MP Sukhdeo Bhagat and AIMIM leader Waris Pathan have condemned her language and demanded an apology. The controversy comes just days after BJP leader Hema Malini dismissed the student agitation as “completely meaningless,” adding to the growing debate over how ruling party leaders responded to youth-led protests.
As FIRs are withdrawn and street protests are over, the controversy raises a critical question: Are political leaders misreading a digitally empowered Gen Z that is set to become India’s largest voting block by 2029?
