Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps has set up secretive new cells inside Iraq, bypassing its established militias to launch drone attacks on Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. According to Reuters, these cells report directly to the IRGC and have carried out at least seven attacks since April, including a strike near the UAE’s Barakah nuclear plant. As Iran’s traditional proxies — Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis — have been severely weakened, this appears to be Tehran’s new model. And crucially, the new US-Iran peace deal does not cover any of it.
