The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has strongly condemned the Delhi Red Fort car blast, terming it a heinous terror act carried out by anti-national forces.
In a special resolution, the Cabinet expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and observed a two-minute silence for the victims.
It also commended the swift response of security and medical teams and reiterated India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.
The Prime Minister has directed investigating agencies to expedite the probe and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice at the earliest.
This marks the first formal Cabinet statement on the deadly explosion that killed nine people and injured over twenty near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro station.
