Heavy rainfall disrupted normal life in Shimla and several parts of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, affecting daily commuting and business activities. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rainfall across the state till August 12, with heavy showers expected at isolated locations.
The weather department has issued heavy rain alerts for Bilaspur, Kangra, Solan and Sirmaur districts, while moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in Shimla. Authorities have warned of possible landslides, mudslides, flash floods, waterlogging, rising river levels and traffic disruptions due to slippery roads and poor visibility.
