Mumbai continues to receive heavy rainfall, with a high tide around 1 PM worsening waterlogging across several parts of the city. Areas including Chembur, Kurla, Sion, Andheri, Mulund, Vikhroli and Dadar are among the worst affected, causing severe traffic congestion and difficult commutes for office-goers.
BMC teams remain on high alert, clearing flooded roads, removing fallen trees and monitoring vulnerable locations. The city is still recovering from yesterday’s tragic incident in Chembur, where a tree fell on a school bus, killing an 11-year-old boy and injuring 12 others.
Meanwhile, Powai Lake has overflowed following continuous rainfall, boosting Mumbai’s water storage for the monsoon season. Authorities have advised citizens to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel and follow official weather advisories as intermittent showers are expected to continue.
