Hawaii Volcano LIVE: Kilauea Volcano Erupts Again, Lava Fountains Reaches Heights of 600 Ft | N18G

An eruption at Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii resumed on Wednesday (February 26), with lava fountains reaching heights of 600 feet (180 m), according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Intermittent volcanic activity within Kaluapele caldera first began in December 2024. The lava flows have been confined to the volcano’s summit, avoiding populated areas on the state’s largest island, also named Hawaii, about 200 miles (322 km) southeast of Honolulu. The USGS reported the latest lava eruption paused Wednesday after about 12 hours.
