Former Singapore migrant worker who survived workplace explosion builds school in Bangladesh

A workplace explosion in Singapore left former migrant worker Mohammad Ataur Rahman with third-degree burns to 73% of his body. 10 years on, he’s using the compensation he received to give children in Bangladesh the education he never had.

Rahman has built a school that can serve up to 400 children, with those who cannot afford the fees still able to attend. Now, he hopes to use part of the building as a training centre for aspiring migrant workers — teaching them English, workplace safety and job skills. #singapore #sgnews #bangladesh #bangladeshnews
