This week, Gartner released its 2024 Gartner® Critical Capabilities Report for Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP) as a companion to last month’s 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Endpoint Protection Platforms.

We’re proud to share that CrowdStrike received the highest score in both the Core Endpoint Protection and Managed Security Services Use Cases in the 2024 Gartner Critical Capabilities Report for Endpoint Protection Platforms for the second consecutive time. We are the only vendor evaluated to score highest in two or more Use Cases.

Taken together, we believe these reports clearly demonstrate the power of the AI-native CrowdStrike Falcon® cybersecurity platform and our unwavering commitment to innovation in strengthening endpoint security for our customers.

Powerful Endpoint Protection with Expert Services

Our understanding is that the Critical Capabilities report addresses the same 15 vendors as the Magic Quadrant to provide a comparative analysis of products or services against a set of critical capabilities identified by Gartner. Scores are then given in four Use Cases: Core Endpoint Protection, Managed Security Services, Security Platform and Architecturally Constrained Environments.

Only CrowdStrike scored highest across two or more Use Cases, namely the Core Endpoint Protection and Managed Security Services Use Cases, delivering what we see as yet another dominant performance showcasing our consistent leadership in endpoint security.

We believe these results underscore the strength of the unified Falcon platform, enhanced by expert-managed services. Delivering powerful endpoint protection with expert services ensures organizations can defend against today’s most advanced threats with confidence, backed by the proven leadership and innovation that set CrowdStrike apart.

A Focus on Platform Innovation and Customer Needs

While this Critical Capabilities report and the companion Magic Quadrant are largely endpoint-focused, Gartner includes commentary on each vendor’s larger product portfolio in the Security Platforms Use Case. CrowdStrike earned a high score in the Security Platform Use Case.

We believe our superior platform architecture, relentless focus on innovation, and consistent R&D investment contributed to our high score in the Security Platform Use Case. With our expanding range of capabilities built into the Falcon platform — supplemented by third-party ingest via CrowdStrike Falcon® Next-Gen SIEM — we solve our customers’ toughest security challenges while enabling them to realize more value from their existing security investments.

In the Architecturally Constrained Environments Use Case, Gartner defines “architecturally constrained environments” as customer-constrained environments. This is not a reference to security vendor architecture but rather a specialized Use Case for hybrid management and network-constrained environments with legacy and rare operating systems.

Our customers are in the cloud, so that’s where we are. In last year’s Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Endpoint Protection Platforms, we learned that 90% of organizations use cloud-delivered EPP solutions. CrowdStrike has been cloud-native since our founding in 2011, and has always made the cloud a core element of our success in protecting customers.

Still, we recognize some customers face architecture constraints inherent to their environments that require broad operating system support. This is why we recently announced expanded legacy operating system support with the introduction of anti-malware protection for legacy Windows versions as early as Windows XP SP3 and Windows Server 2003, among others.

Decide for Yourself

Our rankings in the Critical Capabilities report come on the heels of the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Endpoint Protection Platforms, in which CrowdStrike was named a Leader for the fifth consecutive time, positioned furthest to the right for Completeness of Vision and highest for Ability to Execute for the second year in a row. In June, CrowdStrike was named a Customers’ Choice in the 2024 Gartner Peer Insights™ Voice of the Customer Endpoint Protection Platforms report, with a 99% Willingness to Recommend score based on 524 overall responses as of April 2024.

We believe these Gartner reports highlight our relentless drive for innovation and excellence in endpoint security. Whether it’s our top-ranking Use Cases or consistent results, we believe the strength of the Falcon platform and our ability to deliver unrivaled protection is clear.

But don’t just take our word for it — decide for yourself. As adversaries continue to get faster and stealthier, the need for robust endpoint security delivered from a unified platform has never been greater. We invite you to review the full Gartner reports and evaluate how CrowdStrike can help secure your organization against the most advanced threats.
