Ceuta residents in ‘hell’ as Spanish enclave taken over by 15,000 migrants

Crudely constructed Bedouin-style tents made from scraps of discarded waste stretch as far as the eye can see.

Scenic Playa Del Trampolin is a hive of activity under the blazing north African sun drenching the Spanish enclave of Ceuta.

But no-one here will be writing ‘wish you were here’ postcards to their relatives.

In fact, if hell had a beach, this would be it.

Over the past decade, I have filed reports from migrant camps across Europe – mainly from northern France and Greece – and in all my years as a journalist, I have never seen anything like this.
