Singapore police calls to use single caller ID 6000 0999 in fight against scams

Not sure if a police call is legit? From Monday (Nov 2), all outgoing calls from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) will use the single caller ID number, 6000 0999, to help the public distinguish legitimate police calls from scams. Each call will also be followed by an SMS from the official “gov.sg” sender ID.

The move comes amid rising concerns over government official impersonation scams, with the police being the most frequently impersonated agency.

The SPF urged the public to remain vigilant, reminding them that government officials will never ask them to disclose banking login details, install unofficial app store applications, transfer money or hand over valuables. #singapore #singaporenews #scams
