Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has pledged full support for Saudi Arabia as Houthi attacks intensify across the kingdom. Egypt’s National Defence Council says Cairo will provide “all necessary and possible” forms of support to defend Saudi Arabia’s security, stability, territory and Islamic holy sites.
The announcement comes after Houthi attacks targeted Riyadh’s airport and Saudi Aramco infrastructure, raising fears of a wider regional conflict. Sisi has also sought parliamentary authorisation for possible military assistance if Saudi Arabia requests it.
