Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma is being formally crowned as the new King of Tooro Kingdom in Uganda in a grand royal ceremony at Karuziika Palace in Fort Portal. Taking the royal name Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I, he succeeds the late King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, who died in August 2026 at the age of 34.
