The Eagle’s Nest is world famous today as Hitler’s teahouse atop a mountain. In May 1945 it represented to the ultimate victory of Germany by US troops, who captured it. The contents of the building were taken as souvenirs and much of it still exists, mostly in the US. In this episode we delve into the artefacts and the men who captured them courtesy of the Souvenirs of War collection.
