Across the US, families of those killed in the September 11 attacks commemorated the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks, which killed almost 3,000 people. In New York, at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania, they observed moments of silence for each of the attacks, and officials added an extra moment of silence in New York for the first time.
