Canadian filmmaker Matt Johnson didn’t set out to make a film about world renowned chef and author Anthony Bourdain, but that is exactly what he did with his coming-of-age story Tony, which will be in Canadian theatres starting Aug. 14. CBC’s Emily Ferrier sat down with him at the Revue Cinema in Toronto to talk about the inspiration for the film and capturing the life of an icon as big as Bourdain on screen.
