The government says the changes will promote stability and support long-term national development. However, opposition parties and legal experts argue the reforms concentrate more power within the ruling ZANU PF party and undermine democratic accountability. Court challenges are already being prepared, while calls for regional intervention are growing. The legislation marks Zimbabwe’s biggest political transformation since Robert Mugabe’s removal in 2017 and could redefine the country’s political future for years to come.
