Often labeled “buccal massage,” “jaw release,” or “intraoral massage,” these treatments are marketed as a way to release stored trauma — with clients sometimes shown crying afterward.
While the mind and body are deeply connected, there’s little evidence that our jaws literally store trauma the way these practitioners claim.
