LaGuardia to Operate at ‘Reduced Capacity’ After Crash, Says Duffy (Press Conference)

Officials including US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, New York Governor Kathy Hochul and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani gave an update on the deadly collision between an Air Canada jet and a fire truck at LaGuardia late Sunday night. Secretary Duffy confirmed that both of the pilots of the plane were killed in the crash and 40 other people were injured. The secretary also said that LaGuardia is back open and will operate at reduced capacity, adding that the airport is ‘well staffed’ for air traffic controllers.
