A new marketplace aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs has been launched in Mumbai. Swateja Mart, located in Malad’s Sunder Nagar municipal market, provides a dedicated platform for women-led self-help groups to sell handcrafted products and homemade food.
The initiative is part of the Swabhimaan programme, which has already helped more than 4,500 women gain entrepreneurship training, financial literacy and market access.
The marketplace also includes a cloud kitchen facility that allows women entrepreneurs to expand their food businesses and reach customers through online delivery platforms.
Officials said the initiative has supported hundreds of women-led groups and facilitated credit linkages to help them scale their businesses.
The programme aims to further expand opportunities for women entrepreneurs across Maharashtra.
