In 1976, an elite Israeli unit launched an audacious raid 4,000 km from its bases to rescue the passengers of an Air France flight hijacked by terrorists and taken to Uganda. Taking advantage of a total element of surprise, the commandos infiltrated Entebbe airport by posing as the escort for dictator Idi Amin Dada.
In just a few minutes, they eliminated the hijackers and freed almost all the hostages. Despite the historic success of the mission, the operation was marked by the death of the unit commander, Yoni Netanyahu, and three hostages.
