The United States has issued new sanctions on Iran, targeting seven Iranian nationals. It follows an Iranian announcement that Tehran will expand its defence capabilities – in light of US threats of military action. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is in Turkiye for talks aimed at dialing down tensions.
