President Putin inspected a dancing humanoid robot at an exhibition in Moscow on Wednesday with wary Kremlin bodyguards standing close by to ensure the Russian leader did not come to harm in the event of a malfunction.
The AI-powered robot’s performance was staged by Sberbank, Russia’s biggest bank, and shown on state television. The demonstration came shortly after dozens of people were killed by a Russian drone and missile attack in western Ukraine.
“My name is Green,” the robot told Putin. “I am the first Russian humanoid robot with embedded artificial intelligence. This means that I am not just a programme on a screen, but a physical embodiment of technology.”
