Disney’s ABC network is taking Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air indefinitely amid a backlash to remarks the late-night host made about the killing of Republican activist Charlie Kirk. Kimmel, who has been a vocal critic of Trump, accused Republicans of using Kirk’s death to criticize their opponents. In a statement, the Writers Guild of America criticized the move, saying: “If free speech applied only to ideas we like, we needn’t have bothered to write it into the Constitution.” Our reporter Tiwa Adebayo joins Stephen Carroll and Caroline Hepker with the details.
