It’s been a day of chaos and confusion in the Middle East.
Iran had promised retaliation after the bombing of its nuclear sites. Overnight it fired missiles at a US military base in Qatar, where around 10,000 American troops are based.
Donald Trump thanked Iran for providing advance notice of what he called a “weak response”. Most missiles were intercepted. Troops were moved to safety. No one was hurt.
Soon after, President Trump announced Israel and Iran had agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire”.
Then Iran fired off a fresh waves of missiles at Israel.
