China will host the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) second largest annual gathering, also known as the Summer Davos, on Tuesday (Jun 24) in Tianjin, amid global trade tensions and concerns over escalating conflicts. It is expecting a post-pandemic record of more than 1,700 participants from 90 countries, including increased interest from the Middle East and North Africa, with the number of attendees from both regions doubling from just a year ago. CNA’s Olivia Siong reports from Tianjin.
