US President Donald Trump is due to speak with the leaders of Ukraine and Russia later on Monday.
He’s expected to push for an end to the Ukraine war.
On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met US Vice President JD Vance during Pope Leo’s inauguration at the Vatican.
It was their first meeting since their dramatic argument at the White House in February.
The US and western powers want a 30-day unconditional ceasefire to allow for peace negotiations.
The first high-level talks between the two sides since the start of war were held in Istanbul last week.
