The Great “BREXIT RESET”. Is It Really Happening?

It’s been 9 years, 9 long years since England and Wales voted to leave the European Union, pulling their siblings Scotland and Northern Ireland out too, kicking and screaming. David Porky Cameron’s first mistake was not adding a proviso to the referendum result, insisting on a UK-protecting unanimous vote to leave from all four home nations. To quote Danny Dyer, “what a twat”. And yet, here we are 9 years later, still grappling with the fallout of a decision that was sold to us as ‘taking back control’ but has instead left us isolated, poorer, and less in control than ever. But now, as Starmer’s Labour Party begins to talk about a reset in our relationship with Europe, I’m forced to ask: is this really the great Brexit reset we’ve been waiting for? Or is it just yet another political fudge, designed to placate voters on both sides of the Brexit divide, without addressing the fundamental damage Brexit continues to do to this country?
