Pregnant and displaced: 650,000 women needing urgent healthcare following Pakistan floods | SBS News

The United Nations says 73,000 pregnant women are expected to give birth this month while displaced by monsoon flooding in Pakistan.

Over 1,000 healthcare facilities have been damaged, leaving 650,000 pregnant women without healthcare facilities needed to ensure a safe pregnancy and delivery.

The destruction of homes has also placed women and girls at a greater risk of gender-based violence.
