Lorius Karius has claimed he has turned down approaches from five clubs to remain on loan at Besiktas.

The German keeper has just completed the first season of a two-year loan spell from Liverpool at the Turkish cub, who have an obligation to buy for £7.25million in 12 months time.

Karius has confirmed his agent was approached by two UK clubs and three from his native Germany over a move, but wants to see out his agreement with Besiktas.

Loris Karius has reportedly turned down approaches from fives clubs in the UK and Germany

‘This season, through my agent, two clubs in the UK, three clubs from Germany, made offers. I rejected them all because Besiktas is special to me.’

Karius made 35 appearances for Besiktas last season as they secured Europa League football with a third place finish in the Super Lig.

The 26-year-old will be remembered at Liverpool for the two mistakes that led to goals from Gareth Bale in the 2018 Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid.

Within months he was replaced by Brazilian keeper Alisson in a then record £60m deal and allowed to depart for besiktas.
