Bayern Munich are planning to plug the gaps left by Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery by bringing in Leroy Sane and Ousmane Dembele, according to reports.

Manager Niko Kovac labelled Dembele as ‘a great player’ and is reportedly keen to bring him back to Germany just two years after he left Borussia Dortmund to make his £135million move to Barcelona.

Sane is also being targeted by the Bundesliga champions who have been vocal in their pursuit of the Manchester City winger and according to Bild, Sane is Bayern’s top priority this summer.

Bayern have reportedly already had a £62million bid rejected by Barcelona for Dembele while City value Sane at £90m.

‘Dembele is a great player,’ Kovac said. ‘If Barca finally bring Neymar back from PSG, it could increase the possibility of reaching an agreement for Dembele.’

Kovac also praised Sane during the presentation of of 19-year-old Jann-Fiete Arp after signing from Hamburg.

‘He could help us with his qualities, as we have seen with the German national team and Man City,’ Kovac said of Sane.

City sources believe the 23-year-old will remain at the Etihad Stadium, although contract negotiations have been ongoing for a year.

The German has scored 39 goals in three seasons at City, and Bayern will not make an offer unless Sane states he is keen on the move.
