An EasyJet plane bound for London crashed into another aircraft on the tarmac at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport this morning.

The Airbus A320 collided with a parked Boeing jet while it was pushing back from the terminal.

Passengers said the Airbus’s wing had become lodged in the tail of the KLM plane, which was due to fly to Madrid.

One customer revealed it was the second setback on her EasyJet journey after the airline had already lost her luggage.

EasyJet have been forced to find a replacement plane for the London-bound passengers, who have been delayed by more than four hours.

One passenger, Jye Sandiford, said: ‘Thanks EasyJet. Lost luggage first flight, second flight crashed into parked KLM plane on Amsterdam tarmac.

‘Now missing meetings and stuck on plane for 90 minutes.’

Another passenger said: ‘My EasyJet flight from Amsterdam to London just literally backed up INTO another plane.

‘Our wing is lodged in a KLM tail. We’re stuck on the plane while they’re investigating.’

The EasyJet flight, EJU 8868, was due to take off for London Gatwick just after 7am this morning.

However, the departure time has now been pushed back until 11.30am.

The KLM flight to Madrid departed nearly three hours late, although it was not clear whether the same plane was used.

‘EasyJet can confirm that two aircraft made contact during push back from stand, one of which was easyJet flight EJU8868 from Amsterdam to London Gatwick,’ a spokesman said.

‘The safety of passengers and crew is our highest priority & an investigation has been launched in line with procedure,’ they added.
