Writer E. Jean Carroll accused Donald Trump of violent sexual assault in an incident that took place in the mid-’90s. In a book excerpt published by The Cut, Carroll says the alleged assault occurred in a dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. Carroll’s account alleges that Trump shoved her against a wall and began ‘forcing his fingers around my private area, thrusts his penis halfway — or completely, I’m not certain — inside me.’ Carroll says she informed 2 of her friends of the alleged attack at the time, which New York Magazine confirmed. Carroll also writes that one friend said, ‘He raped you.’ Carroll is at least the 16th woman to accuse Trump of sexual assault. At least 4 other women have claimed that Trump assaulted them around the same time period as Carroll’s account. A Trump spokesperson called Carroll’s allegation ‘completely false’ In the excerpt, Carroll also says she was attacked by former CBS CEO Les Moonves. At least 13 other women have accused Moonves of assault or harassment.
