The woman accusing Neymar of raping her has turned her anger onto police saying they have been ‘bought’.

Brazilian model Najila Trindade, 26, levied the corruption charge as officers probing the liaison between her and the superstar footballer began interviewing her ex-husband today.

They are also preparing to interrogate the £200million footballer either tonight or Thursday morning, but police may shift the investigation from rape case to domestic violence charge.

The lawyer representing Neymar’s alleged rape victim Najila Trindade dramatically quit yesterday after the model accused him of stealing an iPad that she said proved the footballer’s guilt

Ms Trindade told a Brazilian TV interviewer: ‘The police are bought aren’t they? Or am I crazy.’

The accusation has been dismissed by police sources involved in the case who said they were determined to investigate her allegation against the soccer star thoroughly and would treat him as equally as any other suspect.

Brazil’s Association of Police Inspectors issued a statement saying: ‘Above all our commitment is to fighting crime and we cannot tolerate this type of baseless accusation which can damage the image of our officers.’

Ms Trindade has found herself increasingly cornered and alone over the past few days, spending her time in isolation in her apartment with her son.

She is seeking new legal representation after two lawyers dropped her case.

Neymar’s assistant Gallo is alleged to have arranged the flight for the model to come to Paris to see the star

The police statement, written in Portuguese, states: ‘The victim testified at this unit of the Women’s Protection Police Station that she met Neymar through the Instagram social network and that they started exchanging messages. ‘Neymar’s assistant “Gallo” (pictured) then got in touch with her on May 12 and booked a flight and a hotel for her in Paris.

She was said to have accused one of her lawyers of stealing her iPad which she claimed carried six minutes of film which would incriminate Neymar.

It was stolen from her apartment, she said, but police could find no sign of a break in at her apartment and a doorman at the block of flats has contacted officers saying she he felt threatened by her after a conversation.

Her second lawyer Danileo Garcia de Andrade dismissed her claims against him and removed himself from the case.

Ms Trindade’ ex-husband Estivens Alves, who MailOnline revealed had been stabbed by her at their Sao Paulo home in 2014, said he remained friends with his ex-wife.

But he claimed he had received death threats through social media because of his ex-wife’s case against the Brazilian footballer.

‘I was threatened through my social network that if Neymar did not play the Copa America (a tournament which begins this weekend) I would be killed’ he said.

He is being quizzed as to his ex-wife’s general character and demeanour, but has said he is taking no sides in the investigation.

Neymar has strongly denied the rape allegation and said he has been ‘set up’ after the Paris liaison.

In her police statement, obtained by MailOnline, the model revealed an assistant to the soccer star Rodrigo Galo acted as a go-between to lure the model to Paris for a liaison with the Brazilian sporting hero.

She admitted to wanting to have sex with him when she agreed to meet him in France but said he became aggressive and raped her.

Ms Trindade also claims the Paris St Germain striker was ‘seemingly intoxicated’ when he went to her hotel on the first of two nights.

‘She left for Paris on May 14, arrived on May 15 and stayed at the Hotel Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe.

‘The victim states that at around 8pm of the same day Neymar went to her hotel, seemingly intoxicated.

‘They began chatting and cuddling, but at a certain point he became aggressive, and through violence had sex with the victim without her consent.

‘The victim states that she left Paris for Brazil on May 17. She affirms that she was fearful of filing a complaint in a foreign country preferring to do so at this precinct instead.’

Neymar has released a video denying the allegations and revealed messages between the two.

All interviews are being monitored by three top government lawyers who revealed there might be reason to downgrade the case against Neymar.

They have heard that Ms Trindade flew to Paris to have sex with the footballer, but will help decide whether some of the behaviour by Neymar during their two meetings in Paris may have resulted in domestic violence against her rather than rape.

Neymar has also been quizzed by police in Rio de Janeiro over accusations he posted pictures and messages from his alleged victim on social media, without her permission.
