We’re not saying people are starved for Star Wars content right now, but when a Reddit theory that doesn’t even pretend to be true gets multiple writeups, it’s possible that maybe Disney should try and get some new material out there sooner rather than later. But that doesn’t mean there’s no news from the Lucasfilm world. Like what? Read on.

Rose Tico Returns

The Source: Kelly Marie Tran herself, via The New York Times

Probability of Accuracy: This is 100 percent spot-on.

The Real Deal: Months after deleting posts on her Instagram account due to harassment, Star Wars: The Last Jedi star Kelly Marie Tran wrote an op-ed for The New York Times in which she addressed social media bullying and the effect it had on her. “It wasn’t their words, it’s that I started to believe them,” she wrote. “Their words seemed to confirm what growing up as a woman and a person of color already taught me: that I belonged in margins and spaces, valid only as a minor character in their lives and stories.” But that feeling didn’t last, and instead provoked a far more valuable response from the actress: Defiance. “I want to live in a world where children of color don’t spend their entire adolescence wishing to be white,” she wrote. “I want to live in a world where women are not subjected to scrutiny for their appearance, or their actions, or their general existence. I want to live in a world where people of all races, religions, socioeconomic classes, sexual orientations, gender identities and abilities are seen as what they have always been: human beings.” She finished the piece by writing, “You might know me as Kelly. I am the first woman of color to have a leading role in a Star Wars movie. I am the first Asian woman to appear on the cover of Vanity Fair. My real name is Loan. And I am just getting started.” This is the person who should be leading the Resistance, let’s be real.

Whole Lotta Lego Goin’ On

The Source: Official Lego PR

Probability of Accuracy: It’s so accurate that even the Ugnauts are impressed.

The Real Deal: Good news for anyone who wanted more Lego action to go along with the Lego Millennium Falcon set: This fall, there will be a 2,812-piece “Betrayal at Cloud City” set, based on the climax of The Empire Strikes Back, complete with 18 mini-figures so that you can finally let Lego Leia and Lego Han come face-to-face with Lego Cloud Car Pilots. Look, don’t pretend that you’ve not wanted that for quite some time, we won’t believe you. The 22-inch wide, 22-inch deep set will be in stores Oct. 1.

Commander Gets a New Commander

The Source: Official Disney/Zynga announcement

Probability of Accuracy: Once again, this is an official statement, and therefore very accurate.

The Real Deal: If Lego doesn’t fulfill your desire for Star Wars play, then perhaps you’ll be more into the news that Disney is partnering with developer Zynga for up to two new free-to-play mobile games, in addition to letting the company take over Star Wars: Commander operations. In a statement, Zynga CEO Frank Gibeau said, “Star Wars is one of the most iconic franchises in the world and has engaged generations of fans for decades. As game makers and moviegoers, we’re huge fans of Star Wars and are excited to create new experiences for players that bring this beloved brand to life. We look forward to extending the reach of the Star Wars universe and developing a new mobile game that entertains players for years to come and has the potential to be a future forever franchise for Zynga.” If nothing else, he’s mastered being able to insert the brand name of his corporate partners into a statement.

When Does Resistance Rise?

The Source: An enterprising fan (and some Disney source code)

Probability of Accuracy: That’s a tricky one, in that Disney removed the evidence, but let’s go with “probably very accurate.”

The Real Deal: In a curious moment, a fan managed to get a previously unseen synopsis of the upcoming Star Wars Resistance animated series—one that revealed the time period of the show—from checking out the source code of the show on the official Star Wars website.

Soon after this tweet, the synopsis disappeared from the site, but here’s what it said when it existed: “Set about six months before The Force Awakens, Star Wars Resistance tells the story of Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order.” Just six months before The Force Awakens…? Does that mean that future seasons of the show—assuming that it runs more than one season, of course—could take place parallel to Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Or even after it?

Who Is (and Isn’t) Part of the Resistance?

The Source: A couple of people involved with the show in a couple of locations

Probability of Accuracy: It would appear to be extremely accurate.

The Real Deal: Speaking of Star Wars Resistance, the show released its first trailer a couple of weeks ago, and at the same time, actor Rachel Butera shared that she would be taking on the role of General Leia Organa in the series:

As if that wasn’t enough information about the show, there was also creator Dave Filoni’s surprise revelation that he wasn’t, as expected, running the series. “I created and set it in motion, but I’ve given that to other people to raise up, people that I’ve worked with a long time, who I think deserve the opportunity to tell stories,” he told IGN. “I think it’s exciting, and I give them my thoughts and notes—I was just doing that this morning, like George would give me. So that’s fun.” The show begins Oct. 7.

Some (Almost) News About Star Wars: Episode IX

The Source: Richard E. Grant himself

Probability of Accuracy: Assuming he’s not being sneaky, this would seem to be real.

The Real Deal: Richard E. Grant, a man who takes to Twitter to nerd out about being cast in Star Wars: Episode IX, sadly dealt a death blow to one fan theory about his character in the movie recently by telling Radio Times in the UK that he is definitely not playing Grand Admiral Thrawn in the upcoming movie. Beyond that, however, he was staying quiet. “I’m not allowed to tell you anything. Otherwise I would be fired,” he said. “It’s a complete lockdown on any information whatsoever.” Well, other than who he’s not playing. Does this mean we can get him to confirm information about the movie by process of elimination? Quick, someone ask if he kills Kylo Ren!
