Here’s how Weed writer and author of ‘Start Your Own Cannabis Business’ Javier Hasse landed on an album with Wu-Tang’s RZA. Hasse has also written articles for High Times, Playboy, and Leafly.

Javier Hasse describes how he was inspired by when saw playwright and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, In The Heights) perform on the John Oliver show. He started thinking about how he could get Lin-Manuel Miranda rapping about weed legalization. He wrote a rap about cannabis legalization and pitched it to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s team, but nothing came of it.

A year later he performed the spoken word at a conference at the request of a friend and the rest is history.
