From museums to galleries, Boston has a lot to offer the art world—even during the dog days of summer. Let’s pop in up North and check in with what’s on view this week in the capital of Massachusetts.

Start by hurrying to Krakow Witkin Gallery, where a couple of exhibitions are closing this Saturday. There’s a nice feature on Robert Rauschenberg’s 1970 Currents print series, wherein the artist took newspaper clippings of the era’s fraught political and social climate as the basis for black-and-white screen prints. Be sure to also check out “Time Talks” while you’re there, a group show dedicated to work that explores time, including pieces by Kiki Smith, Julian Opie, and Liliana Porter, among others. Then, head over to the ICA Boston to catch two solo shows of some exciting and very different contemporary artists: Caitlin Keough and Kevin Beasley. Keogh is a unique force in painting, combining disparate imagery into slick acrylic renderings, while Kevin Beasley works in mixed media sculpture that combines salvaged clothing with sound art.
