The latest news from the old school community suggests that the 1990’s Eurodance powerhouse, 2 Unlimited, have finally reached their limit.

Until now, it was largely considered that the duo had no limits, as was heavily emphasised in their seminal 1993 smash hit single No Limit. However, it would appear that now, twenty-five years later, they have finally admitted there is a limit and they have reached it.

While it is not yet clear what reaching their limit will mean for 2 Unlimited, made up of Ray Slijngaard & Anita Doth, it is almost certain to have some effect on the duo who are still tearing the arse out of it two and a half centuries later.

“I know we said that there was ‘no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no there’s no limits’,” Ray explained to Wunderground earlier. “And, at the time, it actually felt that there were no limits, we’d just sold eighteen million records, we were full up to our tits on doves and Mitsubishis and wearing leather waistcoats was very much in fashion.”

“For me, it was the height of music, fashion and culture but, unfortunately, those days don’t last forever and it has now become very obvious that there is actually a limit,” admitted Ray. “I’m forty-seven now, I just don’t have the energy to be bouncing around a stage to a song that was made twenty-five years ago. To be honest with you, I didn’t even really like it back then so, as you can imagine, I abso-fuckig-lutely hate it now.”

“Anita’s the same, we called an emergency meeting last week and, between us, we decided that we’d both reached our limit and it was time to finally stop performing No Limit,” he continued. “Obviously, neither of us were very smart with our money and we still need to perform so we won’t be stopping altogether.”

“Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to catch us performing all the classics, Tribal Dance, Get Ready For This, Twilight Zone, pretty much everything apart from No Limit and Workaholic, which was just fucking shite, in a half empty, small, dingy venue near you very soon.”

Reports that 2 Unlimited had split shortly after we spoke to Ray were confirmed this morning. However, it now appears that Ray and Anita have once again put their differences aside and reformed for the thirty-ninth time.
