The third version of President Trump’s travel ban, targeting Muslim majority countries, has now been upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States. Nowthis’ Zahra Haider explains how this is not the first time the U.S. has used the law to explicitly exclude a minority group from our society. In 1944, the Korematsu vs the United States SCOTUS ruling lead to the internment of tens of thousands of Japanese Americans.

“We are talking about the legal discrimination of people based on their racial and religious affiliations. This country was built on the notion that we all have a right to our beliefs. At the very least our government is suppose to uphold that principle.”
